Indeed epic (Most of it)

You did this in 10 mins? Shit man! I'd love to make something that hard and fat in that amount of time! Yes, yes, the voices are waaaay to loud, are poorly placed and the amount of distortion throughout the song is massive (which is why you get an 8 and not a 10), but it gives that bass so much "UMPH!" Love it!

Please for the love of... me... buy FL Studio 8 and finish this song and make ALL of it epic! I've tried using the demo for hours and couldn't get anything this good. Well done... 8/10, 5/5, D/L!

I likely!

Although not aligned to my standard tastes in music, this is certainly a very good track. Not bad at all.

The sound effects you have used are very experimental and interesting and you have made them work very well to make a quite creepy/trippy song and coupled with the fact that it has no absolute climax as such, makes this very suitable for Acid night clubs =)

I really like the melody that you have used from 1:45 to 2:33 too.

No real critisisms really. Seems perfect to fit the "wierd" genre =P
Nice work! 5/5

Hellstick responds:

Glad you like it:) I wasn't sure wether or not people were gonna like it, but it seems like they do, judging by the rates:P (even though only 15 people rated itXD) I am glad you liked it:) The melody from 1:45 to 2:33 were acutaly something that all of a sudden poped into my head while hearing another track. I thought it was awesome, and tried to put it into this track. It fit perfectly, as you can hear:P
Oh well... Thanks alot for the review:)

Not as good as I thought it would be

Due to the fact that the flaws in this song are based on my personal taste in music, I cannot really mark you down so much, as the arrangement and composition of this track is pretty damn good. However there are some things that I think I should mention:
1. Although it can be fixed with very simple editing, the volume of this song is fairly low
2. The bounce/jumpy part of the song (3:23-Onward) sounds a bit off position. That's ok, but thing is, the beat, bass and synth bleed off into each other, which makes the track sound like you went wrong somewhere

From a personal POV:
1. There were no voices in this one =( In ur Scotland the Brave remix, you has 3, 2, 1, GO, which sounded pretty awesome as a drop and its snips were great. But here there is no-one saying "Drop It" which is what I was expecting in a song called "Drop It".
2. The beat sounds pretty weak compared to the one you used in Scotland the Brave (yes I really like that one =P) Maybe its just because of the volume, but I dunno.
3. It sounds as if the song is being played at a live concert rather than being in your headphones or at a rave.

Overall this is a great song. It's not precisly to my liking, but Im sure it will be to others'. Nice track, it aint bad =)

Hellstick responds:

I truly do respect everyones opinions, and yours are no exception:)
I generaly wanna put more vocals in my music, I realy realy do... But the fact is, that I have no fucking idea where the hell to get em:S Meybe I should borrow some sound/vocal cd's on the libary or something, or perhaps download some... That is if I knew where to do so...

About the 3:23 onward part... The only thing I think is off postition is the snare at 4:13, which came out pretty damn sucky.

And the volume... All my tracks in general have WAY to low volume... Every time I try to turn it up a notch the quality totaly dies. I'd rather have a bounch of low volume tracks in my profile then a bounch of tracks with even crapier quality then I have now:S But if you'd like to explain to me how to turn up the volume, then please do so in a private message:D

Thanks alot for the review! I'll try to improve!:D

Well done!

You successfully made me left ear pop!

You'd like me bleedin ear tune, i tell ya =P

This is gettin my download!! =D

Dude, this is very nice hardstyle... a little different from what I consider hardstyle (check out my hardstyle song ;P), but nevertheless a great track!

There is too much of this tune that I like, so I'll only list the bad points:
- The intro seemed slightly rogue as it is only heard twice in the song and isn't really dwelled upon throughout the rest of the song... a better intro could be a pre-reverb of the vocals with claps and first lead, then going into the kick, etc.
- End bar drops (like doing mad drum skips at the end of every 4th or 8th bar)

Bleh, these are just personal taste aspects! Everything was fantastic for your own style. The vocals were a great choice =) A hard track all the way (apart from those bell-like sounds which are nice adds =P)

Great work! Love it! 5/5

Hotplurplegnome responds:

i just love breakbeat intros and it kinda comes again...in the 8 bit part:P
sorry about the drops im just trying to make it less repetitive and stuff:D
and yeah thanks for the review!

Deserves to be played at big concerts! =)

This sounds very Ian Van Dahl, or at least up there with them lot.

This is a very professional sounding piece you have created here, and I could certainly imaging this being played at places like Gatecrashers and God's Kitchen. This kinda stuff can get you on a CD mate!

I love the euphoric breakdown and even the build-up. Every sound is clear and punchy. The vocals could do with a touch of pre-reverb and could be turned down slightly, as they distort a little bit.

A great full track, extremely professional and I think quite a few british people can relate to it! Nice work!

Equation responds:

Thank you, a very nice review :)

Yeah I put alot of work into this one... The vocals however I kinda rushed, I had just bought my new microphone and recorded my voice on the one take... Hadn't even put the pop filter in front of the mike which apparently is supposed to make it sound clearer ;-I

Thanks for the review my new tracks should be better :)

A stunning track

This is truly a masterpiece. Every sound is so well mixed and the melody is awesome, the whole thing sounds so professional!

One thing that bugs me tho is that hollow reverbed sound is a bit over-driven and could do with a bit less mid EQ. Everything else is wonderful.

I could stay here typing about this song for a good 15 mins, but I wont, as the brilliance of this song goes without saying. Great submission, dude! =)

xKore responds:

Thanks you for the review Infinity,

It originally had a minimal mid range in the song but I added some arps and stuff to sound like some of the trance I had listened to, and Karco said making some more mid would make it sound fuller, but I guess it's down to taste.

Hurray for happy hardcore! =D

It's nice to hear something old skool here. This is a very good and fast paced, full song you've created here! Love the "3, 2, 1" intro to the bassline =) Great synth fillers too! Progression is brilliant!

Im struggling to find anything wrong with this, but i think the bass could be centred a bit more in terms of stereo, given a less sine-y sound and the kick could be compressed better into the song, i.e. could sound a bit punchier at the start of each beat.

But still, it's so good im gonna download it. Very nice work! Love it! =D

Hellstick responds:

I have absolutely NO idea what you mean about "sine-y sound" what so ever, but that does not change what I am about to say:
Thanks alot for the review, not to mention the score:D

A very good remix =D

*Turns up volume*

I really like the version of this track that you've done! It is generally well structured and the use of the vocals are great.

Not to be picky or complaintative however, I have quite a few things that I would like to point out:

The piano and strings sound like they have really been messed about with by a Timestretcher, much like the effect you get on Windows Media Player if you increase the play speed on that. That could do with a readjustment.

The kick drum is also very hidden amongst all the vocals and other drums, so I would suggest that you up the gain and compress it so that it bangs through every other sound without distrupting them. You could also do with giving the bass such characteristics to give the song a bit more balance.

There seems to be NO lead synth in the song, only pianos, strings and the vocals. To make this song totally epic, you need a good, fat arpeggio in with the vocals and in between vocal placements to fill it up a bit more (arpeggios are always an excellent choice =D).
----
That's it really. Sorry if I sound like I'm complaining, especially about stuff that may just be YOUR style. This really is a great remix.

Well done on this! =)

P.S. Check out my other songs =D

8= DJ-I =8

CrescentDolls responds:

Thanks for the review I´ll try to make it better ; )

...

You get 1 star for the fact that sound is actually present.
I'd make a better comment, but i don't even know what this is.
